Did you know that the church has updated its Family Home Evening website (or that they even had a site for Family Home Evening)?? I just came across it and it is fantastic for families with children of all ages.
Check out the website: http://www.lds.org/family/home-evening?lang=eng
There is a section for:
The Family Home Evening resource book
lessons by topic
Quick tips and ideas
Activity Ideas
... and more... but you'll have to check it out yourself.
For example, they have one family activity called a "Buzz Activity" - this is to help improve communication, and to have discussions within your family.
Another example is "Let's go fly a Kite" - in which (you guessed it), it teaches you how to build and fly a kite, which you can do together as a family.
The best part about the website is the scrolling information at the top where it posts a number of "Our Most Memorable Family Home Evenings" by members of the church. Some of these give great ideas to do with your kids, which will hopefully be memorable for them as well.
I was excited to come across the site, and I look forward to using it in the future.
